“Purity” aimed to capture the essence of cleansing in a psychological sense. The quality of the chiffon acting as a veil, covering the face adds an element of purity and transports the model into a deep and psychological state. I was influenced by my Jewish heritage and the water ritual of Mikvah, which “purifies” a women before marriage through the symbolic submerging in a body of water. I used chiaroscuro to heighten the drama and emotional impact.
